Kyoto Travel Plan B Arashiyama ( My Best Place in Kyoto )

Arashiyama Has The Most Beautiful Scenery in Kyoto ( My opinion )

* direction *

  • Train…JR Kyoto staton( Sagano line )—Saga-Arashiyama station
  • Bus…JR Kyoto station bus terminal( bus number 73,74,83)—Arashiyama

About 1,000 years ago, aristocrats would build resort villas in this lush natural environment.

The Togetu-kyo Bridge and Chikurin-no-michi( Bamboo Forest Path ) and other interesting places and activities are very popular for tourists.

Arashiyama is my favorite place in kyoto!

Rickshaw( Jinrikisha )

Sightseeing with a nicely sun tanned handsome guy would be a great experience !

You can find them everywhere in Arashiyama.

Chikurin-no-michi( Bamboo forest )

with delicious sweet dumpling

This path is 400 meters long and you can walk and eat! ( I always do )

It is illuminated in December. It’s really beautiful.

Nonomiya-jinja Shrine

This shrine is in Bamboo forest.

People come here pray for luck in LOVE

The shrine appears in “the Tale of Genji”, a piece of classical Japanese literature written in the Heian period.

Sagano Romantic Train

This popular sightseeing train gives you a stunning view of Hozukyo Gorge, and it takes 30 minutes to travel the 7,3km between Trokko Sagano and Torokko Kameoka Stations.

All seats are reserved and I recommend you to make a reservation in advance( 1 week before you ride )

Hozugawa River Boat Ride

The 16km ride down the river takes about 2 hours and you can enjoy both rapids and calm water and get a little wet.

Arashiyama Monkey Park

After climbing Mt.Iwatayama for 30 minutes, you can see about 120 monkeys!

You can also feed them from inside the hut.

Delicious restaurants in Arashiyama

1  OBU CAFE

2  ANJYU

Arashiyama is also a great place for cherry blossoms  and autumn leaves.

If you have only 1 day in Kyoto, I suggest you to go to Arashiysma, you wouldn’t be regret!
